Changes in Your Mouth to Be Aware Of

Have you recently noticed changes in your mouth? Does something feel off when you run your tongue along the inside of your mouth? These changes are things you need to keep track of. A change that happens, then disappears in a day or two, typically is nothing to worry about. However, if you notice changes that either continue to change or stick around, you need to come in and see us at Weddington Dentistry.

What Are the Change in Your Mouth You Need to Be Paying Attention To?

Changes in Your Mouth to Be Aware OfIf you have noticed a change in your mouth that isn’t going away, talk to us at your next appointment. For changes that come on out of nowhere, call us and schedule an appointment. Even little changes can point to a big problem. Here are some changes you want to take note of.

Any type of thickening of tissue in your mouth should be brought to the attention of one of our dentists at your next appointment. Note where it is, how big it is when you find it, and if it grew. Any changes you can explain can help with diagnosis.

Lumps or bumps in your mouth that don’t come after an injury should also come up. Again, you want to note the size and texture, if possible. If it goes up and down in size, this should come along with any other explanation you can offer.

You should also tell us about any pain you have in your mouth. It may not seem like a big deal at the time, but if the pain gets worse, we have to know. Even minor bits of pain must come from somewhere. If you can describe the location and if the pain moves, it can help us a lot.

If you notice any type of issue, contact us. At Weddington Dentistry, we take your concerns very seriously. Contact us today should you have any of these signs, or others not mentioned here. The more information you can provide, the easier it should be to diagnose what is going on within your mouth.
