Here at Weddington Dentistry, we only provide composite fillings for the patients we see. We do this because we believe the improved esthetics are a valuable part of the cavity and filling process. There are a lot of perks that come along with getting composite fillings. Instead of having a big, dark filling in one of your teeth, you instead have the option of a bright white tooth that no one can really tell was ever filled. Want to know more? Give our office a call.
Why You Want Composite Fillings
Composite fillings are not the same as the older, metallic style of filling. They match the current color of your teeth. To the untrained eye, no one can really tell you even had the tooth filled. Thankfully, they blend in and give you a more pleasing look and increased confidence.
Another perk of composite fillings is their ability to harden more rapidly than a traditional filling. It only takes a portion of the time to harden when compared to a metal filling. This means that after your composite filling is placed, you can go back to life as usual quite quickly. Most people are back to eating and speaking like normal the next day.
Composite fillings are not created elsewhere and put into your cavity. Instead, they are layered into the cavity. This allows them to be placed into your tooth quickly, and fill in the entire cavity before hardening. This also means that the hole created to fill in your cavity can be quite a bit smaller than the ones needed for a prepared filling.
If you want to find out why we opt to only offer composite fillings, call our office. Here at Weddington Dentistry, we are ready and willing to help when you need any type of dental work. It may not seem like an extraordinary task to fill in a cavity, but we still want to make sure it provides you with the best possible results.
